My 5th Grade Kickout

Good Morning, Mrs.Dietz,Mrs.German,Honored guests, parents,Daly Staff,and of course 5th grade classes of 2015-2016. It is a distinguished honor to be here today.

 

My dog was very playful,never harmful, and was great to have around.Last year me and my friend went up in the guest room to play games on my mom’s computer. The guest room had a 6ft bed, a tiny TV, and a desk to work on.We had stayed up there for about an hour and went downstairs to check on my dog. Earlier my friend had left a halfway empty chip bag on a small leather ottoman,across from my dog’s bed. My dog had saw the bag and took it onto the floor.By the time we got down my dog had her snout in the bag, laying in a sleeping position with motionless control.

 

That friend’s name was Dj. Dj protected me, always by my side, always the best. Me and him thought we would always have eachothers back.We had fights and arguments from time to time but no matter what it was, the next day it would look like it never happened. But then a major fight started. It had even included both of our parents. When it started I stayed up in my room and went under my bed so I wouldn’t have to hear or watch anything. By the time the fight was over an hour and a half had already passed. My mom had called me to come down try but failed to tell me nicely that I could never see Dj ever again.

Finding a daycare was pretty much the hardest thing for me. I had first went to a daycare that had a giant room. The first few months were good but then I got into a bad habit. I started writing bad words on the doors, hurting people and then I got kicked out. The next one I went to I did the same thing. I got kicked out again. Finally I went to a daycare called Kindercare. I think I was doing all of those thing because I didn’t like the other daycares due to the fact that when I got into Kindercare I was perfectly fine.

 

Going from Kindergarten to the rest of the school years was fine until I hit 5th grade.I met this awesome teacher named Mr. Fitz. When my class and I met him, we had a far better time than in the past years. We started doing fun science experiments, cool math games, mysterious books, and the highest quality percentage of field trips. I’m lucky that I was chosen to be in this class. If I wasn’t I wouldn’t get the best memories that I will never forget.

 

Now we’re going to leave this amazing experience. Its very disappointing but very exciting at the same time.I‘m really going to miss this place, all the memories, all the up and down times, all of the fun.We are all going to 6th grade. It will be a tough time but if we believe, we can get through it. I’m leaving and hopefully never drop out of any other schools from middle school to college. The future will be a big change for everyone here.

 

A new chapter will begin in our lives and we need to be prepared. So always look towards the future. The past does predict the future! If something doesn’t happen in the past it will happen in the future.Your actions have their own consequences. Thank you and have an amazing summer!

 

 

Nonfarm Animal Caretaker

Nonfarm Animal Caretaker

Feed, water, groom, bathe, exercise, or otherwise care for pets and other nonfarm animals, such as dogs, cats, ornamental fish or birds, zoo animals, and mice. May keep records of feedings, treatments, and animals received or discharged. May clean, disinfect, and repair cages, pens, or fish tanks.Nonfarm animal caretakers work in settings such as kennels, animal shelters, zoos, circuses, and aquariums.

Less than high school is needed for entry. Pet sitters typically don’t need any specific training but are typically required to have some knowledge about the type of animals they are taking care of and some previous experience with animals. Nonfarm animal caretakers don’t need training because the work they do is easy and is a little similar to what vets do.

One task to do is feed and water animals according to schedules and feeding instruction. You always have to feed and water animals at the right time and the right way. I bet you that you would never want an animal go starving to death or dehydrated. Yeah I know, I wouldn’t want that either.Another task is to examine and observe animals to detect signs of illness,disease,or injury. If a animal is in severe danger and you don’t act fast, the animal  could earn itself a ticket straight to deathville. My point is, you have to the right tasks to be the perfect person.

I now everybody loves money. All I’m saying is that if you do not do good on your job the lowest you are going recieve is about $16, 490. If you do really good, feed the right animal the right food and show great respect, you will earn $32,500.The only reason you earn money is because you work hard and deserve it. If you slack off and don’t do anything you won’t get anything.Nonfarm Animal Caretakers mostly use x-rays and sickness detectors to examine the animal and what it’s problem is.
The main purpose is that convincing somebody to be a nonfarm animal caretaker is a good thing. You can get a lot of money, perform surgery,and you might have a lot of fun.

200 as a Cobbler

 

There have been many changes in the last 200 years in the shoe business. Those changes include color,production,material,and time limit.

 

In 1815 when the company started you could only get the colors brown or black. The time limit was slow and you barely had any materials. Back then there were only assembly lines. No electronic machines. It was all hand-made. The price would be about $300 for just one pair of shoes. Only one pair!

 

200 years later now in 2015 we have multiple color choices. Instead of just plain black or brown we have colors like red,blue,yellow, green, purple and pink. The time limit is efficient and we even have special materials to make shoes with wheels. We have machines to press down the sole and many other uses. The highest price goes up to being only $50.

 

I believe that electricity made a major change. It is very helpful. The invention of computers made a big difference because people could create their own websites. Plus, shipping would be faster and the price was a lot lower. The tiny change really did a lot of big help.

 

In 50 years the shoe business will be very successful.It will be more efficient. Once my store is finished building I will put a big sign that says “Grand Opening”. We will be making 15 shoes per employee and  selling 50 a day. Our shoes will be mostly made of plastic,rubber,cloth and a little leather. We will also make backpacks,shirts,jackets,and hats.Hopefully our shoe company will make a lot of progress.

Arctic Battle

Fight For The Top Of The World


I believe that Denmark should claim the Arctic. This is my proof. It is a fact that in December, Denmark claimed a large portion of the top of the world, including the North Pole. According to the United Nations Law of the Sea, a country has ownership of the sea areas within 230 miles of its coastline. If a nation wants to claim a larger area, it must show scientific proof that its territory extends further into the ocean. Denmark says it has that proof. Between 2007 and 2012, a team of international scientists mapped the Lomonosov Ridge. The underwater mountain range stretches across more than 1,000 miles. The scientists  say that Greenland is connected to the range. Denmark governs Greenland, the world’s largest island. And that, says Denmark, gives it ownership of nearly 350,000 miles of Arctic Ocean territory.Plus, if Denmark claims it, we can produce a lot more fish. I also have an idea. Maybe if Denmark lets us, with a 30% chance, they might share the oil if were super nice to them.

Clear Spring Park Opinion

Clear Spring Park

Clear Spring Park was made in 1981 and is still here now. It has a bridge connecting to a neighborhood and is right next to a famous school named Captain James Daly Elementary. It is a small park. Under that bridge I was talking about is a home for many animals. There are earthworms, fish, squirrels and more. It’s pavilion ,or the so-called shelter, is a place to set play dates, picnics, and places for parents to talk.

 

My opinion is that Clear Spring Park is positive human characteristic in Germantown Maryland. I know it is good because they have a basketball court. The b-ball court is the best place for kids to get fit and have fun. I think it is a good place to have fun and get strong at the same time. And parents, don’t worry about your kids, just relax.


In conclusion, I love Clear Spring Park. I don’t love all of it but I love it. So parents,moms,dads,aunts,uncles, grandmas and grandpas, take your kids to Clear Spring Park to have a fun time!

The Harp

The Harp

Once two friends named Luke and Kai were wandering behind the park when they heard a soothing sound coming from the end of the creek. There was a strange ripple in the water. More ripples came. They were following a pattern that turned into a song. Then they saw it. It was a energy yellow harp that was playing by itself. Beside it was a ocean blue flute that was also playing by itself. So its true he thought, it’s really true.

The boys played a game and said that the winner would pick which one they wanted. Kai got the flute and Luke got the harp. Luke said that they should go home and research, so he stuffed the harp into his backpack and walked home. When he got home Luke went to his room,locked the door,and took it out of his backpack. When he researched about the harp this is what he found: The harp is a stringed musical instrument which has a number of individual strings running at an angle to its soundboard, which are plucked with the fingers. When Kai researched he found this: Unlike woodwind instruments with reeds, a flute is an aerophone or reed less wind instrument that produces its sound from the flow of air across an opening. When they finished they both met up in a place near a waterfall and a dark cave where nobody could see them.

“Did you bring your instrument?”said Kai. “Totally.”replied Luke. And with the first breeze of air, they started. Luke plucked the individual strings running at an angle to its soundboard. First it was a light drizzle,then a few water drops, and finally it came. A thunder storm! Kai heard thunder shocks coming closer and closer until it struck the flute. Kai whistled into the flute and produced a flow of air across an opening. They both watched as the nearby waterfall turn into a massive wave and wiped out the harp. “Dude. These aren’t just regular instruments. There magic.” “Lets call it a tie okay?”said Luke. “Okay.”replied Kai. But the flute wanted to win..

When Luke went to check on Kai he noticed the shattered window. “Dude, the worst thing happened!”Kai exclaimed. “What, no more P.E and Art in school?”asked Luke. “Worse!It’s the flute dude. It’s evil!”screamed Kai. “How?”said Luke. “When I went to go downstairs and watch T.V I heard a sound that almost melted my ears off. When I went to check, my window was shattered!”said Kai. “Dude, I don’t believe you.”said Luke. “Does this prove my point?”said Kai. When Kai moved out of the way he saw the flute floating in the air and trying to destroy Luke’s backpack. “Hey! That backpack’s new!”said Luke. “Wait, do you have the harp in your backpack?” Kai asked. “Obviously.”said Luke. “That’s it! The flute wants to destroy the harp since we said it was tie and nobody won. The flute wants to win.”said Kai. “If the flute wants to destroy the harp,we have to destroy the flute first.”said Luke.

They both plucked the strings from each side of the harp and let out a really loud drum roll. “Cover your ears!”shouted Kai. “Ok!”Luke shouted back. Once the drum roll stopped they uncovered their ears. “The flute its… its gone.”Kai stuttered. “I know.Now we have to hide the instrument before it hurts anybody else. The power of magic is too powerful.”said Luke. So Luke and Kai hid the harp and never said anything about what happened ever again.

2014 was a happy year!I was happy because of I went to Massanutten. The biggest event for me was the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book.The biggest event in the world for me was the Ebola disease. It scared me because it killed thousands of lives and it could kill more.

 

The Legend of Karkinos and Heracles

The Legend of Karkinos and Heracles

The legend of Karkinos and Heracles is a mythical story. 7,000 years ago there was a giant crab named Karkinos. One day Karkinos went on a journey and found the Lernaean Hydra, a giant, many headed,serpent-like creature. The Lernaean Hydra was ,in fact,the ancient guard of a Underworld entrance to Lake Lerna….

 

Karkinos had to battle Cerberus,a three headed giant dog that guarded the gates of the Underworld, to enter Lake Lerna. He knew that he just had to use his power,but it was not easy. Cerberus bit and pulled on his horn and swing him into the ocean.  After Karkinos got out of the water he made a giant earthquake to make Cerberus fall and the vanished him to the center of the earth.

 

After completing that task they entered Lake Lerna. Lake Lerna was an very old place and was filled with nothing but a very big but abandon lake. There were no more dragons too like the Trojan dragons,the Colchian dragon,the three-headed hydra and all others. Mountains  were now rocky hills and the secret holes that were the homes of many dragons, were now giant tunnels that lead to nowhere.

 

“There was one thing bad about this place,and it was that there was a villain named Heracles. He used to be a hero but Hades made him evil. After he went evil he went to go and kill all of the dragons. I am the only one left. That is why I need you to help me.” said King Hydra.

 

A few days later when Karkinos was eating some sardines that he caught  at the abandoned lake,a giant earthquake started. He knew that Heracles was coming to go kill Karkinos and King Hydra. He ran as fast as he could because he had already destroyed a species of mythical creatures under an short amount of time. Before Heracles emerged from the underground he was looking very angry he saw the footprints of Karkinos and the scales of King Hydra. They were hiding under water so he couldn’t see them.

 

King Hydra sprouted up from the ocean and attacked Heracles. When Heracles and King Hydra where fighting Karkinos ran away and couldn’t look anymore. Seconds later when he opened his eyes all he could see was a dead nine-headed giant dragon sinking to the bottom of the sea. Karkinos screamed and charged at Heracles. After a long time of battling Karkinos died. But for being such a very brave crab,Heracles took his soul and turned it into a constellation. This is how constellation Cancer was made.

Stop Smoking!

Smoking started in 1607 and it still lives now in 2014. Smoking has  killed thousands of people, mostly adults. In this essay I am going to show you what will happen if you smoke.Hopefully, this might stop smokers and people who want to smoke.

Secondhand Smoke:

Secondhand smoke is the mix of the flaming tip of a cigarette and the bad oxygen exhaled by the addicted smoker. This type of smoking includes more than 5,432 chemicals. Thousands are poisonous and more than 63 can cause diseases. Did you know that since the 1960’s Surgeon General’s Report-also known as SG-said that 2.4 million adults that were not smokers died just from inhaling secondhand smoke?A few health problems inside adults contain coronary heart, chest pains, lung cancer, and stroke.

The Effect on Pregnant People:

Smoking can hurt pregnant people to. Smoking from the mother causes sudden infant death syndrome or (SIDS).Compared with inside babies, outside babies that inhale secondhand smoke are more likely to get SIDS. Also, moms that smoke before and after birth, their infants are at 3-4 times greater of the risk. Infants of moms that smoked when pregnant have smaller birth weights.Small birth weights is a straight forward path of babies dying.The weight effect is smaller if the mother smoker quits early while pregnant.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, if you do smoke,you should try to stop.If you don’t smoke but you want to, don’t. It may make you calm and make you feel better, but it can also make you do very bad things.
