Dayanara’s Speech

MY SPEECH

By: Dayanara castellanos

 

Good morning Mrs. Dietz Mrs.German Staff students and families and of course 5th grade students. My name is Dayanara Castellanos. I was born in shady grove hospital . I am  Mexican/American.

 

The first time I started elementary school I cried the first few days. I cried because I didn’t know anyone and I was sad angry and shy. I was in kindergarten. It was hard for me because I didn’t go to pre-k and I didn’t know anything and I couldn’t speak english only spanish. I felt like I was being pressured because other kids knew a lot more than me and I knew nothing. Every time I came back home from school I cried and cried and I told my mom I didn’t want to go to school anymore. My mom asked me why I cried so much and I told her that I felt like I was being pressured and that kids in my class were making fun of me. I also told  a person that spoke spanish and english  to tell my teacher what was going on.  then the teacher told the same person to tell me

that the kids weren’t saying anything mean to me they were just talking to me in english but I didn’t understand.  When I had heard that it was me that didn’t understand I started to like school a bit more.

 

It wasn’t that easy  to make friends because I was  new and I was a lot different from the kids in my class. I was different because I couldn’t speak english or do any work because I didn’t know how to read. At recess  I met a girl named Brianna she was in kindergarten as well she knew how to speak spanish and english so she taught me how to speak english well not much WHY? well because She was in kindergarten and she didn’t know that  much either. Days flew by and I knew how to speak a little english it was better for me because  I could do work  and understand things much better. I  had made much more friends compared to when I started elementary school. Now i’m in 5th grade and my schools name is Capt. James Daly Elementary School  and I have not a lot but not a little amount of friends there really nice and always there  for me even if we get in fights or if were mad at each other and some of those friends are Amanda my Best Friend , Tania my best friend for life, Zahra my crazy friend, Natalya my kind friend, Aniyah my basketball loving friend, and last but not least Briana & Jamour & Esther they are my smart friends.. Not saying that the rest of you are dumb.  Oh!! and I almost forgot my teacher Mr.Fitzpatrick That’s his full last name but almost everyone calls him Mr. Fitz he loves cameras He  mostly carries it everywhere. I like my 5th grade class because I can understand everything and I don’t have that much trouble doing my school work or my homework and that’s because I could understand things and I couldn’t speak english. I still kept going also thanks to my mom and dad thats why im here because they helped me not give up.I  am pretty proud of myself because even though I cried and cried I never stopped going to school and thats why im here in 5th grade.

 

I am kind of  nervous for 6th grade but not much because I  know I will see some of my friends  from my 5th grade . I am happy because it’s like what happened when I started an elementary school except i’m leaving elementary school and going to a middle school.
In the future Im looking forward to being a pediatrician. I want to be a pediatrician because they help kids like me.  They help kids that are sick or when they just go to check ups. But of course, you have to go to college.  And you have to go to college for many years  and study hard to be a good pediatrician. You also have to treat people fairly and be kind to them. You also have to practice to get better and better so you don’t mess up on anything I mean you  can make some mistakes but not to much or else no one will come to you.   Thank you for coming and supporting us. 200 Years As A Cobbler

There have been many changes in the last 200 years in my shoes business. Some of the changes include  that technology can make better shoes and better designing. Also the fashion a lot of people didnt no what fashion was. If they would of haven machines it would of been better for them because it faster to make shoes and it can make better shoes than hand made shoes in my opinion.

 

in 1815 when  the company started we made shoes by hand. We Also didn’t have colors except for black and brown . Also people couldn’t pick there own size they would get whatever we’d have. They also mostly only had leather to make the shoes.

Now, in 2015 we have any colors you want and you can pick the size. Now there is also different and better materials. We also have machines to make shoes instead of making shoes by hand.

My shoes business will be better in the past 50 years because we will have more ideas and better materials. We will probably get new colors and better fashion ideas.WE will probably shop in flying cars and we will do it faster.  We will also probably make glass shoes battery shoes and maybe flying shoes . We will sell headbands candy shirts pants shorts socks sport things and more stuff. I know that my company will keep doing this in 50 years because people need things we sell because they’re important for people to use.

pediatrician

Pediatrician

A Pediatrician is a kids doctor. They care about children. Pediatricians also check if kids need shots. They also see is there sick or is they just need to have a check up .These are some things you need to do to become a pediatrician. The education that you need is a college degree and a medical school degree. You also need to help people that are really, really sick with the protection you need.

 

The salary is $216.69 per year and $90.00 per hour.

Your train in a hospital for 3-8 years.

You need to be nice to the patients and be caring and careful.

The technology that you need to work with are,

  • Computers
  • Printers
  • X-ray machines
  • Light
  • Weighers.
  • etc.

I think that this job will be here in 20 years because with no pediatricians, the kids will get sick and could die too. They will need to go to the pediatrician for a check up. Incase something is wrong with you.

I chose this picture because its simple. Also when the reader sees the cover i want them to think its about  a giant and it is basically. I also want them to think the giant is mean that’s why I put the foot print black . Because if I put it pink its gonna look like he is nice and he is I just don’t want to spoil the story.

The Cursed book

Once there was a girl named Matilda she was 11 years old. Her family had all died so she was left alone and she lived with her best friend. Her best friend is named  Charlie.

Matilda loved reading books and this time she was looking for a mystery book.. So Matilda went to Mr. lindens library and she said.

“ Hello Mr.linden how are you?”

Matilda said to Mr.linden. Then Mr. linden replied.

“I am fine dear what shall I help you with this day?”

He said. Matilda told him she was looking for a mystery book. Then Mr.linden said

“Well i have some mystery books over there why don’t you go look my dear,”

He said it in a creepy voice. Then Matilda went and so came along Mr.linden. Mr.linden said

“Ooh you should get this book its called The cursed book it is amazing”

He said it in mysterious voice like if it were really cursed. Then Matilda agreed and took it. But before she checked it out Mr. linden said

“Are you sure”

Matilda said.

“ Yes, Yes I am,”

When Matilda stepped out the door Mr.linden said in a quiet voice

“I had warned her about the book now its too late.”

Then Matilda went home walking when she arrived home she showed her book to Charlie. After Matilda showed Charlie the book she said

“ Should I start reading it,.”

“ I don’t think this is a good idea it looks creepy,”

Charlie said. But Matilda didn’t care and she went upstairs to read it. When Matilda finally got on page 3. a strange butterfly popped out of the cursed book.

“ What the what!!!!” said Matilda. The butterfly was singing a song and it went like this.

“ 123 123 I am here now let’s go play 123 123 I am special and I am on my way,”

and again she heard it 123 123 I am here now let’s go play 123 123 I am special and I am on my way.”

Matilda got scared so she closed the book but it was too interesting to stop so she came back to it. Then pg.4 came up and she started feeling sick she screamed really hard and fainted. Then Charlie came and saw and said

“NOOOOO!!!.”

Then he saw that plants were growing out of the book he immediately closed it and took Matilda and himself to the basement. He tried to figure out what was happening but he didn’t seem to know what it was. Then he finally found out he said

“Of course it was the BOOK!!!.”

He went to the library and asked Mr.linden if there was a cursed book in the library and he said

“Well no not that i know of but maybe yeah why not”

He said it in  weird voice. So then he started looking for information so he would find something to make her wake up but yet he couldn’t find any. So than Charlie looked at the book and saw words but he didn’t no what hey said he said it looked like a spell in french words or Chinese he didn’t really no.

Then he tried to read it and said

“ Chamaltedo mafaldo samosa chalmoha palando shimoda.”

Then Matilda started to move her hand but could not move completely. Then Charlie saw something  and he saw that some parts of the text were  missing. He panicked but kept reading to see but he didn’t understand why he didn’t get cursed  if he was reading it too. Then there was a sentence on the very corner of the book that said this book only goes to chosen ones. Then Charlie realized he probably wasn’t the chosen one so that why he didn’t get cursed. Then Charlie went back to the library to see if there were any copies of the book but on the way he saw a man that was following him. But then Charlie said in  bravely voice

“Why are you following me do you need something or what is going on.”

Then the man said, “Young boy where did you get that book  do you know what that can do.”

Then Charlie replied.

“ Yes, it cursed my best friend and now I don’t know how to take it off then the man said he had to read the spell in the book but Charlie told him it was not complete.”

The man said.

“Well I have to go i just came to warn you”

Then Charlie said bye but really quick he said

“ But what were u gonna …..”

When Charlie looked the man wasn’t there anymore. He kept thinking about what he wanted to warn him about but then he got over it. Then he finally got to the library and asked Mr. Linden.

“Do you have any more copies of this book its called  The Cursed Book.”   

“I don’t know go check in the mystery section probably there”

So he went. He was looking and looking and he finally found. it he went to the page and found it he said.

“Hooray!!”

Then he ran as fast as he could to his house and got in and went downstairs and  turned to the page and started say it.

“Camaldo mafaldo samosa chalmoha palando shimoda apolsamefa samoska tradan”

Then MATILDA WOKE UP. Then she said she was like frozen inside and didn’t know what to do but the great thing was it was over, well not quite  over. Years past and Matilda and Charlie had died. Then one day a little girl went to the library and ask the man that worked there.

“ umm.. Mr I am looking for a MYSTERY  BOOK CALLED THE CURSED BOOK!!…….

Turns out that, that little girl was the chosen one too!!.

I told you it wasn’t quite over yet!!!.

Legend has it that the cursed book is still being read be careful on what book you read!!.

Clear Spring Park Opinion

Clear spring park opinion

 Clear Spring Park is located in Germantown MD. Clear spring park is a good place for kids to have fun and relax. The park was made in 1981. The park has 4 swings and 2 baby swings. There are 3 slides. There is also a basketball court with 4 hoops and a black top.

 

Overall, I believe that Clear Spring Park is a positive human characteristic for Germantown, Maryland.  It has trashcans for people not to litter. There is police patrolling there to see if something is going on. There could be party’s there and there is a shelter area incase you’re stuck there is the rain.

Also kids can have there own space and be free. Kids can also forget about their electronics and go play in the park. Kids can safely climb trees with their parents watching them. kids can be active and run and play and have fun. Take your children to clear spring park and they will be amazed.

 

In Conclusion this is why Clear Spring Park is a good place for kids any age or others to go.

The Boy Who Wanted to be Mortal: Part 2

 

Donovan wakes up in the hospital and says “ What’s going on?”. Then he asked the doctor why he was there.

 

Then the doctor said “You were defeated by a villain that doesn’t like you so much.”

 

Then Donovan said in a suspicious sound “I Wonder who it was” it sounded like if he knew it was the keeper.but he didn’t want to point fingers at anyone so he was just stood quite. And asked the doctor if he could leave.

 

The doctor replied “Of course we just need to take some blood and see if you are fine” Donovan said “okay but hurry I need to be somewhere.”

 

Then what Donovan didn’t know was that the doctor was not really a doctor well he was but he faked to be one because he was actually a goddess. Her real name was Arrow she could control anything. The reason why the goddesses  needed the blood is so she could put it in a globe that you could see people through.

 

Then Donovan went to the keepers house and went to tell him if he could please let him see the history book but the keeper said “for what” then Donovan replied “I just wanted to see …”

 

Then the keeper said “To see who cursed you right” then Donovan said “ how did you know?”

 

Then the keeper said “Well i’m the keeper I own partly the history book.”

 

So Donovan kept begging him to let him see the history book but the keeper said know Donovan was thinking why the keeper kept refusing to let him see the history book.

 

So Donovan started thinking  that the keeper was the one that had cursed him or why else why the keeper not want to show the book to Donovan. Then the next day Donovan  woke up and left to school after school he was heading out the front door and he heard someone behind the door he tiptod behind the door and saw the little girl talking on a radio and he heard her say

 

“I think the boy Donovan is heading out I will  Check okay Mr. keeper.”

 

Then Donovan ran as fast as he could to his house and saw the little girl following him saying,

 

“Come back HERE .”

 

Donovan ran into his house and locked his doors he went up stairs and tried to call the goddesses but the goddesses didn’t answer. So he went to the back door but before he could even go out he got banged on his head a fainted. Then when he woke up he was at the keepers house and Donovan said “What am I doing here.” After donovan stood up and saw a lot of frozen bodies then he saw the keeper and said “Did you do this.”

 

“Yes yes I did and I will do it to you to” said the keeper then Donovan said “i’m guessing you also cursed me too”

 

Then the keeper replied “Well why wouldn’t I”

 

“I knew it was you” Donovan said to The keeper .”but no one would have expected me” said the keeper. “well I did” said Donovan. Then all everyone heard was a loud BANGand that was the last thing that anyone heard from Donovan.

 

 

The First Amendment

The first amendment is important because, people shouldn’t force you to have a religion you don’t want or like. This is important to me because I wouldn’t want people judging my religion or anybody’s  religion. This is why I think the first amendment is important.

I wouldn’t want to be bothered when I go outside. Also I wouldn’t want to  be bothered by people who just come up to me and tell me what religion is right  for me or what religion is not right for me. For Example in some religions woman aren’t allowed  to go outside with out there body being covered.

This is important because not everyone believes in what other people believe there is many types of religions. There are a lot of religions you don’t have to believe in and there are religions you can believe in if you want for Example: Muslim Catholic Christian Jewish and many more.

Tobacco Safety Movement

Millions of people have died from using tobacco and are influencing  smaller people to get addicted to tobacco. Tobacco has been going on for more then 400 years including 2014. Smoking can cause cancer, and can make you get diseases and can make you suffer a lot. Now we have less people that smoke because we have no  ads,commercials and we also have health labels.

 

Tobacco affects your lungs and makes you have cancer. Almost 73% of people die each year from smoking tobacco. Tobacco can also make you get diseases and tobacco also makes you suffer of illnesses and can cause you death. Now we have health labels to warn people about cigars or tobacco. cigars have more Tobacco than a pack of cigarettes. if you can’t stop smoking cancer will take your health over.

 

Also your teeth can fall out. you can also get infection in parts of your body because of smoking tobacco. Smoking causes abdominal aortic aneurysm.Cigarette smoking causes coronary heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States. Cigarette smokers are 2–4 times more likely to develop coronary heart disease than nonsmokers.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States for both men and women. Women smokers are 25.7 times more likely than women who never smoked to develop lung cancer. For men smokers, it’s 25 times the risk of men who never smoked. Besides lung cancer, tobacco use also increases the risk for cancers of the mouth, lips, nose and sinuses,

 

Damage to the lungs begins early in smokers, and cigarette smokers have a lower level of lung function than non-smokers of the same age. Lung function continues to worsen as long as the person smokes, but it may take years for the problem to become noticeable enough for lung disease to be diagnosed. Smoking causes many lung diseases that can be nearly as bad as lung cancer.
