Career Essay

A sous chef would be a good job for me because they get as much respect as the head chef and can command other chefs.

A sous chef (and head chef) can plan the daily menu for the customers to order food and inspect the kitchen and utensils to see if they are clean and not rusted for if they are they will get new ones. The education is that you have to start as a line chef which is also a trainee where they learn basic kitchen skills and workplace safety before cooking a meal. Restaurant cooks(like me) get paid 20.01$ per hour and 41, 610$ per year. It depends how high-quality the meal is.A chef uses step in coolers for meat and other poultry items, high quality knives for cutting meat and other ingredients, and grinders to blend and dice meat into. They make meals for the community and other cities.
These chefs may not have a high role like the head chef, but they play an important role in the kitchen as well. They supervise other cooks and make meals. A sous chef is a good job.

Gracie Women’s Right Movement

Women’s Right Movement has affected women in the United States. It started 1776 because women were being treated wrong. Now we have laws that all people should be treated equally.

Susan B. Anthony was part of the Women’s Right Movement. She was born on February 15th,1820 in Adams, Massachusetts. She was the second oldest child of eight children in her house and only six lived to be adults. After the family moved to Battenville, New York in 1826 she had to go to a Quaker school. And after her father’s business failed in 1830 she came back to help sort things out and found work as a teacher. And during the mid-1840s the family moved to a farm in the area of Rochester, New York where they became involved in the fight to end slavery.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was also part of the Women’s Right Movement. She was born on November 12th,1815 in Johnstown New York. She graduated from Emma Willard’s Troy Female Seminary in 1832 and was drawn to the Women’s Rights Movement. In 1840 she had married Henry Stanton and the two went to London for the  World’s Anti-Slavery Convention and joined other women that didn’t want to be apart of the assembly. When they came back to the U.S Elizabeth had seven children and her husband just studied more and practiced law, then later on the family moved to Seneca Falls, New York.

In 1872 Susan B. Anthony had voted illegally in a presidential election and got arrested for it then fined $100 for it but never payed.

Later on a few years Susan met with President Theodore Roosevelt in 1905 where she asked to talk about an amendment to give women the right to vote.

After 14 years after she died, women got the right to vote in 1920 which is now the 19th Amendment of the U.S Constitution. And since she wasn’t there the U.S Treasury Department had put her face on dollar coins to honor her.
Susan B. Anthony is the main reason that women are allowed to vote now. Even though she is dead, we all know her as a legend to America and everywhere.

Biomass by Gracie

Biomass is a renewable energy that is made up of wood, animal chips, plants, crops, and trash.  It is used for energy and not for eating or basic screw-in-a-lightbulb-and-instant-light energy.  We can change the world if we use biomass!

Production and Distribution

Obviously biomass is naturally produced by the energy found in trash, plants, and animal chips.  These resources are usually found in where you expect them to be.  Animal waste is usually found on farms and sometimes in the wild.  Wood is basically everywhere and anywhere, and there is even specific types of wood used for energy to burn,so you can always find it at a forest.  Trash is trash so it’s basically everywhere where it can be,in the dumpster, behind a trashcan, and anywhere else.Plants are everywhere so you can either grow them or buy them locally from greenhouse.  Crops are always being grown at farms so if you’re looking for corn than that’s the place to go.

Environmental Impacts

The impacts of biomass are not as dangerous but some can be.When you burn wood to get charcoal,  it can create smoke in the sky and that pollutes the air.  When you cut down trees in the forest there are less trees for the wildlife to use and their homes get destroyed.  There are not that many impacts on the earth that biomass causes.

In conclusion, biomass is a better energy source since it’s a renewable energy so we never run out of fuel or mine to get oil from underground.
