Illustrator Career.

Being an illustrator is a very important job to the world (or any area that need drawings…?)  A job where if it wasn’t there there would be no illustrations anywhere for ads, colouring books, instruction books, etc.

I belive in 20 years this job will still be here.

Now i know the job “illustrator” seems easy, write a sappy kids book with an overused message like “Dunt steel cids, it’s bad (don’t steel stuff… cuz that’s no gud)”, then draw a knock-off barney and BADABING-BADABOOM, profit. But no, That’s not really how it works (but i could) you must actually have TALENT to become an illustrator. I interviewed an illustrator and got the information on how to become a (maybe) successful illustrator, and i’m going to share that information so you can see what it’s like to become an illustrator.

First, he had to draw a lot, practice by himself, and just make doodles on pretty much everything (That’s paper and not very important). Also he needed to have a strong sense of INSPIRATION, which is very important when you want to be creative in drawing and have a unique style of art style, for example, say you like watching cartoons or anime, that may inspire you to have a cartoonish or anime-ish drawing style. Then you draw more and you watch more cartoons and anime and you get better and better, until… BOOM, you’re a (maybe) good illustrator. Where the person i interviewed got his inspiration was in 6th grade, (why do i keep using parentheses, by the way?) In his class there was a little drawing competition, and all the kids drew some stuff for a grade i guess, I imagine they drew flowers, or a potato, or something like that. But little-future-illustrator here thought to make a hulk, and so he did. So then fluttered forth the booty-ful hulk picture that ruled out everyones elses drawings. Thus he became a magnificent illustrator…. OK! Enough story time! More facts!

After practicing drawing a lot in high school and he graduates he thinks to himself “Hey! You know, i like drawing and stuff like that, why not become an illustrator. Oh wait i need to go to art college and get a bachelor in fine arts, oh noooooooo.”. And then he went to art college.  In art college he had classes such as (this may be a long list):

Art History

3D models

Painting

Digital models

Etc.
After that he got his degree in fine arts and became an illustrator. Being an illustrator, He began making book covers, posters, and other things for other people. The reason i think the job illustrator will be here in 20 years is because robots can never replicate the way humans can draw, But in the future i believe we will use robots more for drawing, such as photoshop and other programs. Humans will always draw therefore there will always be a job as an illustrator.
