Fossil Fuels by Samuel

Fossil fuels are an energy source that drives turbine generators to produce energy that we use in our everyday life.  We can use the energy from fossil fuels
at our schools, jobs, and homes.

Production and Distribution

Fossil fuels come from dead Samuel pictureanimals that  died millions of year ago. As more dead animal material piled up the heat and pressure built up to turn them into coal and other fossil fuels. Coal is the most abundant fossil fuel on earth. The steps to making energy are burning coal in a power plant to make steam. Then the steam goes into the  turbine the make generator spin to make energy.

Cost/Material

The things you will need to create energy are:

  • Coal
  • Boiler
  • Turbine
  • Firebox
  • Generator
  • Secondary Coolant
  • Condenser Cooling
  • Water– To Lake or Cooling Towers

Environmental Impact

Coal mining can create a number of problems In the environment like water pollution, noise, dust, and soil erosion. Water pollution can be took care of by carefully separating the water runoff from undisturbed areas from water which contains sediments or sail from the mine workings.  Coal can be a dangerous impact on the environment.

In Conclusion, now I know that fossil fuels can be a big help but at the same time a big problem.  But threw it all it is a amazing energy source!!
