Joshua’s speech

My Speech

Good morning Mrs. Dietz, Mrs. German, parents, guardians, and 5th grade. My name is Joshua Chavez this is a story about me.

When I first went to preschool I didn’t talk at all. I wouldn’t do any fun activities because I was afraid I would do something wrong. I wouldn’t talk because I was scared I would say something weird. So I was basically really shy.  But at the end of preschool I was a new kid. Instead of my parents telling me to talk they keep telling me to be Quiet!

My first time in Elementary school was for pre k. I was very excited  because when Miss. Bulmash was a pre k teacher she said it will be very fun. When I came I was little bit shy but in a couple of minutes I got comfortable and I wasn’t shy anymore. I remember there was a sand box and there was some toys to play with. There was also a science section. Since I was a little kid I thought we were going to blow things up, but I was wrong.

I remembered when my dad got my Wii game console in third grade for my birthday. When I started playing everything CHANGED. I stopped playing with my toy car, I stopped playing outside, and I stopped playing with my sister. I was obsessed with my Wii. I wouldn’t even let go of the controller. The only time I did let go was when I needed to use the bathroom or I needed to eat or when I went to sleep. My mom didn’t like that so she made a rule… I could only play video games on the weekends. For me that was torture, but when I got used to it, I finally got control of myself.

I am looking forward to middle school even if I’m not going to Neillsville I’m still very excited. I think in middle thing will be more challenging and science will be more interesting and funner. Learning new things and get our own lockers I think it’s exciting to me because I never had a  locker before so it’s a new experience for me.It’s more independent to because you walk to your classes by yourself and you get more than one teacher. You get to pick your own classes.

When I grow up I want to be a physician, a physician is a doctor that helps really sick people and gather medical information. I think a Physician is a cool, sad, and happy job. It is cool because you can use lots of technology. It is sad because some patient don’t make it. It is happy because you save the life of a patient and feel good about it.

200 Years as a Cobbler

In 1815 when the company started everything was really slow everything was handmade people were getting hurt like that. It will take them a week to make one pair of shoes. They only make boots and buckled shoes and the style of the shoes are Man, Woman, and Kids. The only color they had is black and brown and the material they had  is just leather.

Now, in 2015 we can make shoes really fast and you can pick any color for your shoe and it quick and easy on the internet. Now you can customize your shoe and design it how ever you want. Now they use machine to make the shoe and it’s perfectly safe. The shoes now are are so comfortable than the shoes along time ago.


I think companies will sell flying shoes that will take you wherever you want to go. It will be made out of the most soft stuff that will make the shoe super comfortable and really fun to use.

Physician

Physician

A physician is a doctor that helps really sick people and gather medical information. I think a Physician is a cool, sad, and happy job. It is cool because you can use cool technology equipment. It is sad because some patient don’t make it. It is happy because you save the life of a patient and feel good about it.

If you want to be a physician you need to graduate from high school, get a college degree, and medical degree it takes 12 years to do all that stuff. The salary a physician gets is 80 dollars per hour but in one week I get 13440.

A physician needs different types of tools like a Stethoscope, Otoscope, Blood Pressure Monitor, Thermometer, Ophthalmoscope, and much more. They use these tool to check if the patient is healthy or not.

I think a physician will still be here in the future because people will get sick every day. The physician needs to save their life so that they can be with their family. There are still some illnesses that are not cured yet. For example, we have not found a cure for cancer. People are dieing because of cancer. So a physician will still be here in the future.

I chose this design because it’s simple.  The jar is what the BFG uses everyday to hold the dreams he catches.  He then gives the happy dreams to the kids and adults so they will be happy in the morning.

Top of the world

I think the Arctic should be owned because there is a lot of resources like oil, coal and a lot more. These resources could be used by powering their country. They could claim it by putting their flag under the ice and in the water.

 

Under The Rug

Under The Rug

One day in a beautiful forest called Seneca State Forest, located in West Virginia there was a big cabin with a wonderful family. There was a old man named Bob and his mom named Mom. Sometimes they go fishing at the river with their friends or go hiking with their brothers and sisters. But… all that fun and excitement will go down the drain on this trip.

One morning in the cabin Bob was really tired from the hike they had yesterday. So he was still sleeping.

“Bob” said Mom.

“What” said Bob.

“Time to eat breakfast” said Mom.

“5 more minutes” said Bob in a tired voice.

“OK but don’t blame me if your pancakes gets cold” said Mom.

Bob ignored her and went back to sleep. He was sleeping for 20 minutes and when he went down stair. Suddenly Bob heard a scream.

“AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!” said Mom.

“What happened” said Bob.

“It the Demon Rat AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH” screamed Mom.

The Demon Rat is a small black rat that spits venom and he scratches you with his big nasty claws.

“Hissss” said the Demon Rat.

Bob immediately grabbed Mom’s arm and ran out the door to the camp fire.

When they got there Bob said “What happened how did the Demon rat get in there.”

“Well I was cutting some cheese for lunch then Demon rat crashed through the window.” said Mom trembling

“I’m going to see if the cost is clear okay” said Bob

“Okay” said Mom

Bob slowly went in the house and saw the Demon rat going under the rug. He got a mug and threw it at the Demon rat but he missed “Crash” the mug was so loud that it scared the Demon rat and ran out the window. Mom came in she said “Is it gone” and gave Bob a big hug. Everything has normal from then, but two weeks passed and it happened again. The Demon rat was in the house searching for cheese. Bob was coming down the stairs and he saw the Demon rat. When the Demon rat saw Bob the rat went under the rug. Bob got so angry that he grabbed a chair and smashed it on the Demon rat he smashed it so hard that it crushed all its bones.

“What happened?” cried Mom.

“I killed the Demon rat!” said Bob.

“It came back?!” said Mom.

“You deserve some pancakes” said Mom.

“Yay!” said Bob.

 

Clear Spring Park

Clear Spring Park

Clear Spring Park is next to the Scenery DR in Germantown it was made in 1981 it is a small park, there are trees for kid to climb on. There is a basketball court and a picnic.

I think Clear Spring Park is positive because kids can play and have fun and have birthday party. You can relax and sometimes the ice cream truck comes and give out ice cream. The park is really safe there are policemen.

Clear Spring Park is a fun place for kid to play and go on the monkey bar and swing on the swings and slide on the slide. Or have a party in the picnic area and play in the basketball court with friends. Kids can relax and have a picnic. Sometime the ice cream truck comes and give out ice cream to everybody. The park is really safe there are policemen in the park so goes wrong they are will stop it.

So Clear Spring Park is a positive thing in Germantown.

 

Archie Smith Boy Wonder

Archie Smith Boy Wonder

There was once a dark world where there was a boy named Archie. He lived in Washington DC. He was being stalked by a terrible monster. It was the Night Stalker. The monster was 8 feet tall and was invisible. The only thing that wasn’t invisible were his eyes. The monster stalked Archie all night. Archie still didn’t notice until the year 2100. He saw two big floating bright lights. He didn’t know what they were. He slowly walked to his mom’s room.

Once he’s in the room Archie yelled “Mommy!” Archie’s mom hit him with her belt because he woke her up. Now Archie’s butt is red as a tomato. He went to his room and went to bed. Suddenly the Night Stalker came back. Instead of going to his mom’s room he went to the front door and he made a run for it. He went through the town dogs are barking everywhere. The Night Stalker was still behind him then Archie made a hard right. Archie lost the Night Stalker. Archie was hiding behind a house. Suddenly the monster teleported right in front of him. The monster asked in a tiny voice “Is he the one?”

Archie freaked out and punch the Night Stalker in the face. His mom call the monster hunters and they said “For Archie bravery he took down a creepy monster so for this day forward we should call him Boy Wonder!”

 

2014…

2014 was great because in 2014 the greatest thing that happened for me was my 11th birthday.The biggest thing that happened in the world was the 2014 Fifa world cup. This girl named Malala Youazal won the Nobel Peace Prize award for her efforts to promote girls’ education around the world. She is the youngest  Nobel winner in history.

The Mythical Quest

One day Steve and his best friend Jack were going on a quest in a cave to kill a Minotaur, Cyclops, and a Chimera because those three monsters were stealing their resources. Luckily Steve was prepared and brought jugs of fresh water, rope, a sword, a torch, and strong boots. Jack brought a bow and arrow and a grappling hook. They saw a sign next to the cave it said “ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK” But they ignored it.

 

When they went in the cave Steve and Jack tried to look around in the dark cave. When they went further they saw a Minotaur, a half man and half bull it was 16 feet tall his horns were the size of bananas. Trying to find something to eat. Steve pulled out his sword and attacked the Minotaur. The Minotaur got angry smoke came out of his nose and attacks. Jack helped Steve and shot the Minotaur with his bow and arrow. They finally killed the Minotaur and went deeper in the cave.

 

They were walking for one hour then Steve started to notice skulls on the wall. He wondered someone had to put up the skulls. One minute later they saw a big cyclops, a cyclops was a giant with one eye, they immediately split up. The cyclops was banging his club all over the place. Jack shot his grappling hook around the cyclops legs the cyclops fell down. Steve tied his long rope around the cyclops arms so he wouldn’t get up then Steve chopped his head off. They were getting hungry so they ate half the cyclops.

 

Now they are looking for a chimera, the monster has a head of a lion, a head of a goat, and a head of a snake. Steve and Jack were walking for half an hour until they heard a loud roar “ROAR!!” they ran towards the loud noise and sure enough it was the chimera!!! First they sneak attacked the goat head the goat head was chopped off. The snake got angry and the snake wrapped around Steve and Steve dropped his sword. Jake grabbed the sword and throws it to the snakes neck. Now its just the lion head so Jack shot the lion with the arrow and it went through its head. Steve and Jack were very happy but very tired so they went home and protected their family.
