Bye Elementary! Hello Middle School!

My 5th Grade Speech

Good morning Mrs.Dietz, Mrs.German, teachers and staff, guest and most importantly 5th grade class of 2015. My name is Esther Fadaka.

 

During my years in Kindergarten through 5th grade I almost only spent 1 year in each school, it sounds crazy, but it is true. I am used to hearing “We are moving.” At the time, I just didn’t understand that it would help my family and also me too. Because I moved so much, i learned to make friends quickly. I also learned how to choose the “right” friends.

 

It also affected me because every school I went to I got the name “New Girl”. But then I started to get used it about 2 years ago. I couldn’t stop them from saying it, I mean I was the new girl. As I met new friends I had to say goodbye to those friends each and every time I moved.

 

Once I moved to my townhouse in Germantown MD. I came here to Captain James E. Daly Elementary School. I made some amazing friends 4th through 5th grade, and some of them are Briana, Zahra, Aniyah, Dayanara, Kyla and Natalya.

 

I hope that I will go to Middle school and leave Middle school knowing I am proud of myself for those 3 years. Once I finish Middle school I want to graduate from High school. And go to college to get a bachelor’s degree, to become a pediatrician.
Going to Middle school is kind of like moving, but in a good way because most of the people from this elementary school will go to Middle school with me. Although, the people that will not go to the same Middle school good luck in Middle school. Have a great summer!!

Cat’s Cradle

This graphic novel is about this girl monster tamer at traveling camp telling stories about monsters. But one boy in her tent knew all of the stories that she told, but this one story he didn’t know. But he said it was not true so Suri (the monster tamer) wanted to show that the story is real and that she was a monster tamer. However Leon (the man that runs the camp) does not want Suri at the camp so she has to hide from him. She also told a story about Catnish. They look like cats , and they could transform into humans with a special yarn ball that was gold. Even if the Catnish looked like humans tails but it was hidden most of the time. These so called Catnish are after Suri because she has the yarn. Once they got it back they turned to humans again.

This Journal Belongs To Ratchet

This book is about a 11 year old named Ratchet. This book a.k.a her journal for Home school Language Arts, where she writes about her life but in assignments like poetry and etc. And each assignment she does she writes in her journal. Each 2 or 3 pages she has a new topic. But really every that she owns in her house is from salvation army, or its used.

 

I would recommend this book to you because its really interesting and its just a fun book. And most importantly it leads you into the life of 11 year old Ratchet.

My Shoe Buisness

There have been many changes in the last 200 years in my shoe business. Some of the changes include…

 

In 1815 when the company started there was no color meaning that you could only have black boots or brown boots. Probably because they only had certain amount of materials. Also because people in the shoe business back then, don’t have time to focus on getting a shoe colorful when in that 2 hours they could make about 20 pairs of shoes.

 

Compared to 2015, 200 years later, you can choose whatever color you want. You can even customize! Now that 200 years later we have machines that can make 50 shoes in an hour! We have found ways to get colors and to get materials to make the shoes look great!

 

Plus in 1815 you couldn’t even get your exact shoe size! That means that if I was a size 6 and they only had sizes 8-10. That means that the closes I can get to my shoe size is 8 and that’s way too big.

 

Now in 2015 you will be able to get your correct shoe size. Now that there are more people that can help others with a shoe and also there are tools, and people that come up with those things that will help the shoe business.

 

200 years has made a big difference in the shoe business we now have machines that make our shoes and different materials that make our life easier, better and faster.

 

My shoe business will have robots that will make your shoes and you will never have to make a shoe ever again. You will also shop in private, a robot from the company came dressed as a human and they will give you the shoes that you ordered over the laptop or computer. My company will also sell a headbands but not any ordinary headband. It will be a headband that will transform into any shoe that you have in your closet. But to warn you it only works in the sunlight, and we have another headband for rain, snow or darkness.

Career Essay

Pediatrician

Pediatricians are a big part in the Medical Society because they help and more or less treat kids. In this essay you will see how you can become a pediatrician, what they do, technology used, and will this job be here in the future.

 

If you ever were to become a Pediatrician you would need to have a Bachelor’s Degree, in high school you would take Humanities and Social Studies. You will also be in Medical School for 6 or 7 years. Also, you have to take the Medical College Admission Test (M.C.A.T).

 

When you become a Pediatrician you will have to take a patient’s medical history, update charts and patient information, take care of a patient’s health, etc. The technology used are x-rays to check if you have a broken bone. Also, scales, computers, doctor tools, printers and weighing machines.

 

Pediatricians will be here in 20 years because if someone were to get hurt or injured you would need someone with special training and experience to help you out of the situation.

I chose to put a broomstick on the cover because when Harry Potter was at Hogwarts he was the first ever to be a first year and make the Quddtich team and that was a big event in the book.

Clear Spring Park Opinion

Clear Spring Park Opinion

Clear Spring Park is located on Scenery Dr ,across from Daly Elementary Germantown Maryland, and made in 1981. If you were to drive by Clear Spring Park you would see a Medium park area, a Pavilion and a basketball court.

Personally, I think that Clear Spring Park is a positive human characteristic of Germantown Maryland because it is a place that people can hang out and get to know one and another.

Clear Spring Park is also a place where you can relax after a hard day of work/school.When you come to this park you will see some safety signs, that’s just one way that this park is safe.

If you go to Clear Spring Park you will enjoy I promise, but just keep in mind there are rules you have to follow. But if you follow those rules im sure you will have a great time by yourself or even with family or friends.

A Strange Day In July

Wouldn’t it be strange if you threw a stone in the water and it came back? You won’t believe me if I told you that this happened to Curtis and his little sister Amanda.

One Saturday morning, Curtis’s family decided to go camping. Amanda was not so excited about that but Curtis was. As they loaded in the car to get to Harper’s Ferry’s Campground In West Virginia. Curtis decided to play a game with Amanda in the car.

“Amanda wanna play I Spy?” said Curtis.

 

“Yeah sure, but can I go first?” said Amanda.

 

“I spy with my uncaring eye, a annoying brother,”said Amanda.

 

“That was so funny I forgot to laugh,”Curtis said sarcastically.

 

But by the time it was Curtis’s turn they were already there.

 

“Curtis and Amanda we are here,” said their mother.

 

As they unloaded the car ,they headed to a cabin. To get a good night sleep. There were a couple arguments, but when they woke up it was all fine. They brushed their teeth, took a shower and ate breakfast, then they  went on a nature walk . That didn’t go so well either.

 

“MOM! Curtis pushed me!”yelled Amanda.

 

“NO I DIDN’T!”Curtis yelled back.

 

“Curtis say sorry to your sister,” said their Mom.

 

“But I –,” Curtis Stuttered.

 

As soon as Curtis said sorry he ran off. But being the good sister Amanda is, she ran after him all they way to The Potomac River the nearest river she could think of. But when she caught up with Curtis, she found him skipping rocks, I guess she was right.

 

“Curtis can I throw 1?” said Amanda.

 

“Sure lets have a skipping rock competition, so far I’m in the lead so you better catch up!” Curtis said happily.

 

He threw with all his might but the third stone came skipping back.

 

“WHOA, what just happened,” said Amanda.

 

“I don’t know, but we are about to find out!” said Curtis.

 

Curtis and Amanda ran back with “The Rock” to the cabin, shut the cabin door and started experimenting.

 

But something happened to soon.

 

“What in the world, the rock just bit me,” Curtis said to Amanda.

 

“What how can a rock bite you?” Amanda said confused.

 

“Wait, this is not a rock it’s-it’s A CRAB!!” shouted Curtis.

Curtis immediately went back to the lake and threw back “The Rock” and headed back to the cabin. It was their last day there in West Virginia at the campground

They loaded into the car,  but Amanda said she “Forgot Something” back at the river. Amanda was running to the river and found “The Rock” and hid it in her bag. Then Curtis came to the  river and took Amanda back to the car. Amanda had something to tell Curtis.

“Curtis I have something to tell you, I went back to the river because… I took “The Rock,” Amanda said nervously.

 

“YOU TOOK THE ROCK!!! I THOUGHT WE GOT RID OF THAT THING!” Curtis said silently  but with anger .

 

“At least were leaving with a smile on our faces knowing we had a good time,” Amanda said.

 

“Sure,” said Curtis.

 

Under The Floorboards By: Emily Carroll

This book is about a little girl that finds a doll under the floorboards, in the night when she cant sleep. But when she wakes up and find that her room is clean. She owes it all to the doll. But every good deed comes with a bad one. The doll starts to get on her nerves when she does her homework and writes on the wall. When she wants her too leave, the doll doesn’t  want too. And when she leaves her outside she vanishes and leaves her alone FOREVER!!

Jamie Grimm is a sit-down comic trying to be “THE FUNNIEST KID COMIC”. While Jamie is still trying to get through school. He is incredibly funny its unbelievably funny. Even though he is still in school he is sure making a mark on the world. Personalty my favorite part is how he always tells jokes he sure knows how to put a smile on someones face.
