In my Opinion us kids should not have to make up snow days because kids that walk to school have to walk in the snow and the children’s parents are at work when it’s time to go to school they would just stay home instead of going to school, and it costs money to make up the days.
An added day on the Monday after spring break in April cost $1.5 million, and a extra day in june will cost $ 500,000. MOCO saves money when they have a snow day when they close they save money.
Two extra days of school in the spring MOCO $2 million for me that’s a lot of money in my opinion I rather just not do extra days of school at all. Kids would have less spring break that means kids would have less time to spend with their family’s.
The County used too many snow days over the winter and was forced to add extra school time to meet state requirements. In my opinion I think that’s just being pushy.
In conclusion, kids shouldn’t have to make up snow days because it will spend MOCO’s money and when we have no school MOCO saves money.
