It was the first day of winter break and Eva had just woken up from a nice nap it was Christmas eve December 24, 2015.  Eva had to get ready for Christmas eve that she was going to spend the day at her house with her family.  She had to get dressed and go buy a few things for the day.  Eva was going to be very slow as a turtle by the end of the day.

Eva had gotten dressed to go out to the lake forest mall to buy chicken with her family Her sister Sonia also, needed to go buy presents so everyone was separated.  It was very hot in the mall that Eva was as sweaty as a gym coach.   Eva and her mom both went to a perfume shop and bought her father a perfume for Christmas.  Eva’s dad did not know that they went to go buy him a perfume because Eva’s dad was at work.

After the mall Eva, Alejandro her brother, Her mom, and her sister Sonia went home.  When Eva opened The door to her house both of her female puppies raced to the door and licked slobber all over Eva’s face they were so excited to see her Nala and Lova the two dogs were not excited to see the others because when Alejandro, Sonia, And Eva’s Mom went to pet Nala and Lova the ran under the table.

It was already afternoon when people started to arrive at Eva’s house.  Before anyone arrived which was before the mall Eva and her family cleaned the house they cleaned the table, Cleaned the kitchen, passed vacuum,  fixed the living room, Everyone cleaned their rooms, and washed laundry.  The house looked spotless and there was so much room.

It was afternoon about at 5 in the afternoon Eva’s brother named hose brought a cake just o have something sweet for Christmas then he left.  A few moments later his girlfriend walked in with her two kids her name is Jocelyn and her first kid is a girl and her name is Arlene her second baby is a boy and his name is Christopher.  Jocelyn came into the house to wrap gifts.

Eva was wearing a red dress her mom was wearing a blue dress and her sister Sonia was wearing a white dress.  Alejandro brought up that them all together looked like the the american flag of the united states.  Jocelyn left to go buy a few more presents and she left her children at Eva’s house because she had to go buy more presents.

Eva’s dad got home from work and when he got home he ordered pizza.  He ordered one box of pizza with pepperoni and stuffed crust he ordered another pizza with chicken and all of the pizzas had stuffed crust so he ordered one last one which had tomato’s  black olives and green pepper.

At eight everyone had arrived to Eva’s house Alex her other brother brought Chinese food and Eva’s other brother brought more pizza and the also all brought gifts.  The Christmas tree was over flowing with gifts some were also ripped.

Three hours passed and it was eleven and Eva and Everyone else were still partying hard.  Everyone was waiting for the clock to strike midnight to open presents.  Fifty nine minutes passed and everyone was counting down and it was midnight everyone ran to the tree and ripped their presents Eva was very excited for what she got she got a scrap book that she could make she got a scarf a shirt and a wallet and perfume.

Eva and her family love that day and they still do to this day.   They all had a good time spending time together.  Eva and everyone was grateful for what they received for Christmas.

Simile:

Eva was going to be very slow as a turtle by the end of the day.

Metaphor:

I was a rock on a bed.

On New  Year’s Eve Jasmine and her family and friends came to Jasmine’s house and it was dinner time their was tamales, Pizza, Mac and Cheese and a lot of   soda and lollipops Jasmine  was as excited as a monkey going to  party full of bananas.

 Jasmine’s little sister named miah and she just turned One hours later Jasmine was getting sleepy and 2 hours later Jasmine was giving lollipops away to the kids then Jasmine and her friends and family were counting down they  all shouted “ 10 …9…8…7…6…5….4….3…2…1…. Happy New Year!!!.

1 hour later Jasmine got a plate and put Mac and Cheese and put it in the microwave and it set on fire on the back of the plate it said Do not put in the microwave so that’s how Jasmine caught a microwave on fire. It was as hot as a burning marshmallow.   

On January 3 2016 in the night Alexa went to Rock-in Jump. It was like awesomer than the word awesome. Alexa was Jumping in the air doing all sorts cool stuff like a professionalist gymnast. There was this war thing where two people get this long tube thing that’s like a mat rolled up but no, and you have to whack each other with it and whoever falls first loses and whoever doesn’t fall wins and so Alexa was fighting with one of her friends Angie. But sadly in every single round Alexa Kept falling and losing but luckily it wasn’t her fault because Angie is FIFTEEN so basically it’s not her fault ‘cause Angie has more strength. After that Alexa did more jumps and she had to go home and sleep and then when she woke up she was at school which is like torture.

It was an OK Monday morning in the Kabba household. Samuel got out of bed as usual, brushed my teeth went downstairs. Samuel ate fruity pebbles and was full as anyone who goes to McDonald. So Samuel went on the TV and was on it all day. Until night came when his mom surprised Samuel with a fire tablet and with a little boy from across the street. The little boy was named Michael and his mom said that Samuel and his brother will have to take care of him from Monday to Thursday. So the next day came and since Michael got up at around 8:00 we had to fix him cereal and when he was done with the cereal disaster struck. Michael started throwing pillows, messing up the floor, and destroying everything. But the good thing is the he goes to bed at 9:00, literally Mike was knocked out by 8:59 and sleeping was a breeze. So Samuel and his brother Jonathan was able to get some sleep because they were as a dog sleeping on a bed. Wednesday came along and Samuel and Jonathan got up at 8:00 and everything from yesterday repeated itself. The kid went berserk, Samuel would literally pull out his hair if he had any. But at 9:00 mike had his rest and Samuel and Jonathan got there rest. Thursday was here and it was time for Michael the leave and when Samuel’s mom came to pick him up we were so happy. When they went out the door we were jumping for joy. So that was Samuel’s week before Samuel had to go back to school on Monday.

Similes: Samuel ate Fruity Pebbles and was full as anyone who goes to McDonald.  

They were as a dog sleeping on the bed.
Metaphors: Sleeping was breeze.

The date was 1/3/16, Daniella’s  friend texted her if she wanted to play today.

“Daniella said yes”.  

After Daniella said yes Bella said k meet me at my house

“Daniella said OK I will be there in 2 minutes”.

Daniella meets Bella at her house and Bella has his book and the book was about ideas to do when your bored.  But me and Bella are never bored

“Daniella said let’s go to my house and jump on the trampoline”.

“Bella said sure”.

 Daniella and Bella went to my trampoline we were jumping like kangaroos.
Daniella and Bella were practicing their tricks Bella and Daniella were screaming like they were on a roller coaster.  Bella and Daniella had so much fun Bella And Daniella were having so much fun it was to eat dinner Bella had to go and Daniella had to go too so they said their goodbyes and went home.

It all started right after school ended when Lionel, Rahmann and Leon walked home together. Before Leon and Lionel had to cross to get home.

Leon let Lionel take his penny board to Lionel’s classroom but Lionel wasn’t sure so Lionel gave the back to Leon. Lionel, Rahmann and Leon had exited the school.

Lionel, Rahmann and Leon talked as loud as monkeys screaming for bananas at the top of a tree. Lionel, Rahmann and Leon took turns on the board until Lionel, Rahmann and Leon had to go home they all had a group hug because they wouldn’t see each other in twelve day ago.

Similes: Sharp as a Pencil, Useless as the “G” in the word “Lasagna”

Paola’s Christmas Eve

It was 9:00 a.m on December 24th, 2015, 11-year-old Paola Chicas was awake playing Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX on her nintendo 3DS in her bedroom. She was playing the song Amatsu Kitsune (Tianjin Fox) in Easy mode with the volume up. The volume was so loud, her 12-year-old brother Rafael came in her bedroom.

“Can you please turn down the volume?! That music is so annoying!” Yelled Rafael.

Paola was as sharp as a pencil.  “Of course –NOT! I can play it as loud as I want!” She yelled back

“No you can’t! I can hear it all the way in the living room.”

“Of course not, you idiot.”

“Kids! Get dressed! We’re going to El Volcan (Where Their parents work.)” Yelled their mom from downstairs.

Paola and Rafael groaned. “Okay, Mom.” They groaned as Rafael went to the basement (His bedroom) to get dressed while Paola went to grab some clothes.

In the car, both Paola and Rafael were on their Ipods while their Mom and Dad were talking on the way to work. They went to their Dad’s office to play games on the Ipods to kill some time. Later, Dad came to the office.

“Hey, Daffy (That’s what Rafael is called at home or work.). I need help. We have 3 ladies working today. I need your help.” Said Dad, making Rafael help.

“WHAT?! Why me?! Can’t Pao (They call me like this. I’m used to it.) help?” Yelled Rafael, making me work too. Dad said yes, so there was 7 people working. It wasn’t fun.

When it was time for the ladies to leave (FINALLY!!!) , Dad wishes them a “¡Feliz Navidad!” and a “¡Feliz año nuevo!”.

They headed to Grandma’s House for the rest of the day. There was  Paola and Rafael’s 5-year-old cousin, Trystan. Also, Fabrian (Pronounced Fab • rie • yan; 1 year old cousin.) was there. Both gave Paola and Rafael presents, then all 3 families headed to their homes.

Around 11:00 p.m., Paola and Rafael opened their presents. Rafael got shoes (HIDEOUSLY UGLY ONES.) while Paola got a new digital Piano.

“Your UGLY shoes are as useless as the letter “G” in ‘Lasagna’ ” Paola told her brother, Rafael, was not pleased. Then, They headed to bed 30 mins. later.

Winter break was a breeze! Until monday, Paola had to go to school (Daly ES).

Devonis’s winter break was as fun as watching a snail getting to it’s destination! (I think’s you get the sarcasm.) But Devonis’s winter break was actually fun! He went bowling and ice skating and stayed home playing video games! Let me tell you about the bowling! 

Devonis woke up on a Wednesday and did his regular morning routines. He made his cereal and started eating. (Now I can see that everything seems boring now but just wait!) When he finished eating he went right back to bed! (Just kidding!) He actually went on his Xbox and started playing Minecraft with his friends. After an hour of playing he went on Netflix watching “Mighty Morphan Power Rangers” season 2. (Devonis is a big Power Rangers fan by the way.) After about 2 episodes his mom told him to turn the TV off and get his jacket and put on his shoes. Devonis asked his mom what was going on. (These were his exact words.)

“Why do I have to put on my shoes?” Devonis asked.

His mom replied, “You’ll see!”

Devonis did what his mom said and they both walked out the door and into there car.

1 hour later!

It was one hour and Devonis was a sitting duck. He was about to flip if he wasn’t there in 2 minutes.

2 minutes later!

It was 2 minutes and do you know what happened?! (Read the last paragraph if you don’t know.) You guessed it! He flipped! Devonis immediately asked him mom how much longer it was going to be.

“Mom, when are we getting there?” Devonis asked impatiently.

“We were hear 40 minutes ago.” Devonis’s mom answered his question.

Devonis’s face was as red as a cherry! (Trust me, sitting in a car for an hour isn’t good. That’s why I got this narrating job to pass the time!) His mom explained why they were sitting an a car for 40 minutes.

“We are waiting for your cousins S-”

(Now lets stop here, I’m not telling you guys Devonis’s cousins name. Lets just say Sally and Jason. Hmm, your wondering how I know there real names? Uh, lets just say I have my ways. I totally don’t stalk them or anything. Uh, I mean, uh, lets get back to the story!)

“We are waiting for your cousins Sally and Jason. You know how they live 2 states away.” Devonis’s mom explained.

“Oh.” Devonis calmed down.

Their cousins came 10 minutes later in there mom’s car.

“Sorry we took so long.” Jason apologies.

“It’s fine.” Devonis said to Jason.

When Devonis finally saw the sign he was in shock! The sign was as bright as the sun! It said

“Bowling”!

Devonis never went bowling before!

“This is your Christmas present!” His mom said.

Devonis was about to break into tears but he didn’t. He pulled Sally, Jason, and his mom in the place. His mom payed for the food and the drinks and after they ate they played. (BTW Jason and Sally was a few days older than Devonis. Well only one of them. Jason was the oldest, Sally was the youngest, and Devonis was in the middle. HEY STOP CALLING ME A STALKER! I’M NOT! SERIOUSLY! STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT! BACK TO THE STORY!) They played for 2 hours. It was Devonis’s best time of his life! (Other than watching that snail.)

They left and Devonis went on his Xbox and told his friends about his Christmas present! After a few hours it was night and he went to sleep.

5 days later he went back to school and learned some stuff and standing right next to me while I’m writing this! He says that he is ready for tomorrow!

Similes: As fun as watching a snail getting to it’s destination. As red as a cherry.

Metaphor: Was a sitting duck.

It was new years eve of 2015 when Derek arrived at this party in New York. Of course he didn’t want to go but his mom forced him. He was like a feral bear, he didn’t want to interact with people. Anyways when they entered the party they were greeted by alot of people, most of witch Derek didn’t know about. After some time of just watching people do stuff people do at parties Derek decided to go sit at the corner and play on his cellphone. When everybody was counting down to new years Derek just ignored the people and kept playing, and when the countdown was at zero and everyone was celebrating Derek said: “Yes I got a new record!”

His mom was as unhappy as when a monkey losses his banana so then she snatched the phone. For awhile Derek was just a tree, he was motionless and watched everyone else. His mom finally gave him his phone back but after 15 minuets it ran out of battery. Thankfully his mom was about to leave or he would’ve rest in peace.

Simile: He was like a feral bear.         As unhappy as when a monkey losses its banana.

Metaphor: he was just a tree.

Last week, Leandra went to Canada to celebrate Christmas with her grandmother. As she was on the plane, she was excited to go hunting, but alas, it was snowing in Canada, so she could not.

As she was she was in the car on the way to her grandmother’s house, she was dying to know what else she could do instead of hunting.

So with disappointment in her voice she asked her mother, “Mom! What is there to do around here!”

“I hear there is a snowboarding place around here,” her mother said, “Maybe we could go check it out tomorrow.”

All day long Leandra was ridden with fear, she had seen in movies how bad snowboarding could be if not done correctly. She knew that if she backed that her siblings would torment her.

“I’ve got to do this!” She said in her mind.

The next morning Leandra and her family woke up bright and early to catch the snow hills at it’s best. They drove the 15-minute drive it took go to the mountains, and headed to the dreaded ride on the chair lift.

“Whoa…” She whimpered, “This hill is as tall as Mount. Everest.”

As the chair lift began to approach the large hill, Leandra began to shed a tear that she didn’t want to come out. She wiped it away and got off. Her family was having the time of their lives and didn’t notice Leandra was scared.

Even though she was scared, she gathered up the confidence that she still left in her. She tried to fight the cold that was slapping her across the face, she took a step to the front of the board, she became scared and quickly put it back, causing her to tumble down the hill like a tumbleweed.

She got back up the hill, this time instead of fear shaking through her, she had the confidence of a pro.

She looked at the hill with sass and said; “I’m gonna ride you… and you’re gonna feel some pain!”

She went down the hill screaming “AAAAHHH!” and “I HATE YOU HILLLLL!” anddd “OH NO I’M GONNA RUN INTO A TREE!!”

She never did run into a tree… But the tree was waiting for her the next time she came back up the hill.

As the thrilling ride was coming to an end, Leandra started to cry. Not because she faced her fear, but because her started stinging from when she fell earlier.

“Wow that was a breeze!” She exclaimed.

She went back up 8 more times, and the tree still never got her, even though it showed Leandra that it was alive and scared her half to death. She called it a day after that ride and went to her grandmother’s house, where they had a big feast.

A few days later, she had gathered up her stuff and went back to America. Where she had to start school… The next day!

Simile: That hill is as tall as a Mountain.

She tumbled down the hill like a tumbleweed.

Metaphor: That was a breeze.
