The speech !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By : NATHANIEL ATAYI

Good Morning Mrs. Dietz,Mrs.German,Teachers,Staffs,Guest, and family members.

My Name is Nathaniel Atayi and I want to talk to you about one of the many people who have positively impacted my life. His name is Jonathan Atayi, my oldest brother. Jonathan Atayi was a student at Capt.James Daly elementary school where he learned that hard work pays off. He loved to read and follow his Teacher’s instructions.  When he Graduated from elementary school he went to Neelsville middle School.  He had to skip lunch to ask Teachers questions about what he learned and took the hardest classes in the school.  He was only occupied by his work and getting straight A’s.  When he was in 8th grade the year 2015 he applied for Georgetown prep one of the best private schools in the world for boys.  When he applied he had to study a lot for the test to get in the school.  He had to take interviews from morning to evening to get accepted.  The people there liked him, helped him and wanted him to come there. He had to take one last test, he studied and worked hard, and he ace it.  Now he is finishing 8th grade at Neelsville and is ready to go to Georgetown Prep in September 2015. Daly elementary and my parents taught my brother Jonathan Atayi that hard work pays off.

When I found out that he was going to Georgetown prep I wanted to be just like him.The reason why I want to go there is because the school teach you how to be the best you can be and how to be a man for others. I also want to do a great job to get to the place he is in right now. I want to follow in his footstep and even do a much better job than he did.The same way Capt.James prepared my brother Jonathan Atayi to pursue excellence it had prepared My Twin brother Daniel Atayi and I and is preparing our youngest brother Joshua Atayi to be the best we  be. Mrs.Dietz,Mrs.German,Teachers,Staffs,Guest, and family members, thank you for investing in my brothers and I..

I thank you for listening to my speech.

My Name is Nathaniel Atayi.

My 5th Grade Speech

Good Morning Mrs. Dietz and Mrs. German and All Staff Members, and Teachers with students of Daly Elementary! My Name is Cobin Rivas, and I was chosen to be In this special moment. And In am pleased to be standing here and speaking to everybody.

In Elementary I had to go to work with my Dad, to help him out a little bit. And In those work days were after school, I got paid and everything got food while working. Those days were the useful days because I learned to be responsible of what I did during working, and how I learned is by getting yelled to understand more than just being a person that won’t learn. And got hurt sometimes but It was the part of learning too, getting hurt Is the way to understand to be careful of whatever I do! And by that time I got more mature. And so i never stopped working with him until my dad got complaints that I couldn’t work with him. Just because I was too young! And for then I never went but one day my dad said ¨Would you like to come to work again?¨ I said okay.  Later on It was snowing and I knew that I wasn’t going to go no more. So I focused more on school work and I landed here at this very spot! So I thank My Dad for helping me throughout the struggle In elementary school. And my Mom too by helping me to not starve to death. I also will remember this moment because of this amazing school that made my Whole 5th grade year very special.

I hope In Middle School and in the Future that I will succeed and pass more than ever.  I think more intelligently and work with lots of potential. I don’t stop until I know that I have tried my very best. As I get older, I know the right time to grow up and be a new person with a new life. I will go on to College so I can get the right degree to help me with my career goals. I want be baptised so I can have a new life with Jesus! I know that this was one of the best schools i’ve been to! I have been to Fox Chapel, but It it wasn’t good enough. I appreciate all the help by all of the people I know and that I trust! Also family members too. So In the near Future, Everybody will recognize me as the one that Succeeded In College!

In all, have Faith, Have a great summer and live life as If It was your last day, Thank you.

Bye Elementary! Hello Middle School!

My 5th Grade Speech

By: Fadaka

Good morning Mrs.Dietz, Mrs.German, teachers and staff, guest and most importantly 5th grade class of 2015. My name is Esther Fadaka.

During my years in Kindergarten through 5th grade I almost only spent 1 year in each school, it sounds crazy, but it is true. I am used to hearing “We are moving.” At the time, I just didn’t understand that it would help my family and also me too. Because I moved so much, i learned to make friends quickly. I also learned how to choose the “right” friends.

It also affected me because every school I went to I got the name “New Girl”. But then I started to get used it about 2 years ago. I couldn’t stop them from saying it, I mean I was the new girl. As I met new friends I had to say goodbye to those friends each and every time I moved.

Once I moved to my townhouse in Germantown MD. I came here to Captain James E. Daly Elementary School. I made some amazing friends 4th through 5th grade, and some of them are Briana, Zahra, Aniyah, Dayanara, Kyla and Natalya.

I hope that I will go to Middle school and leave Middle school knowing I am proud of myself for those 3 years. Once I finish Middle school I want to graduate from High school. And go to college to get a bachelor’s degree, to become a pediatrician.
Going to Middle school is kind of like moving, but in a good way because most of the people from this elementary school will go to Middle school with me. Although, the people that will not go to the same Middle school good luck in Middle school. Have a great summer!!

Dayanara’s Speech

MY SPEECH

By: Dayanara castellanos

Good morning Mrs. Dietz Mrs.German Staff students and families and of course 5th grade students. My name is Dayanara Castellanos. I was born in shady grove hospital . I am  Mexican/American.

The first time I started elementary school I cried the first few days. I cried because I didn’t know anyone and I was sad angry and shy. I was in kindergarten. It was hard for me because I didn’t go to pre-k and I didn’t know anything and I couldn’t speak english only spanish. I felt like I was being pressured because other kids knew a lot more than me and I knew nothing. Every time I came back home from school I cried and cried and I told my mom I didn’t want to go to school anymore. My mom asked me why I cried so much and I told her that I felt like I was being pressured and that kids in my class were making fun of me. I also told  a person that spoke spanish and english  to tell my teacher what was going on.  then the teacher told the same person to tell me

that the kids weren’t saying anything mean to me they were just talking to me in english but I didn’t understand.  When I had heard that it was me that didn’t understand I started to like school a bit more.

It wasn’t that easy  to make friends because I was  new and I was a lot different from the kids in my class. I was different because I couldn’t speak english or do any work because I didn’t know how to read. At recess  I met a girl named Brianna she was in kindergarten as well she knew how to speak spanish and english so she taught me how to speak english well not much WHY? well because She was in kindergarten and she didn’t know that  much either. Days flew by and I knew how to speak a little english it was better for me because  I could do work  and understand things much better. I  had made much more friends compared to when I started elementary school. Now i’m in 5th grade and my schools name is Capt. James Daly Elementary School  and I have not a lot but not a little amount of friends there really nice and always there  for me even if we get in fights or if were mad at each other and some of those friends are Amanda my Best Friend , Tania my best friend for life, Zahra my crazy friend, Natalya my kind friend, Aniyah my basketball loving friend, and last but not least Briana & Jamour & Esther they are my smart friends.. Not saying that the rest of you are dumb.  Oh!! and I almost forgot my teacher Mr.Fitzpatrick That’s his full last name but almost everyone calls him Mr. Fitz he loves cameras He  mostly carries it everywhere. I like my 5th grade class because I can understand everything and I don’t have that much trouble doing my school work or my homework and that’s because I could understand things and I couldn’t speak english. I still kept going also thanks to my mom and dad thats why im here because they helped me not give up.I  am pretty proud of myself because even though I cried and cried I never stopped going to school and thats why im here in 5th grade.

I am kind of  nervous for 6th grade but not much because I  know I will see some of my friends  from my 5th grade . I am happy because it’s like what happened when I started an elementary school except i’m leaving elementary school and going to a middle school.
In the future Im looking forward to being a pediatrician. I want to be a pediatrician because they help kids like me.  They help kids that are sick or when they just go to check ups. But of course, you have to go to college.  And you have to go to college for many years  and study hard to be a good pediatrician. You also have to treat people fairly and be kind to them. You also have to practice to get better and better so you don’t mess up on anything I mean you  can make some mistakes but not to much or else no one will come to you.   Thank you for coming and supporting us. Thank you for listening to me. Have a great summer and good luck in 6th grade see you there well some of you

Now that my time is up I would like to thank Mr.Fitz for everything he did.For helping me to become a better learner. But now in a few months we are going to Middle School and we will  be starting a chapter in life.So don’t be nervous we are just going to school and we will get to meet new people and old friends,so don’y be nervous. Now  have a great summer!!! and Good luck in Middle School.

Pooyan’s Speech

Good morning ladies and gentlemen , teachers and staff, Mrs. Dietz and Mrs. German, students of 2014-2015

My name is Pooyan and i’m here to talk about how my life changed through elementary school from pre-k to 5th grade. When it was the day before I was about to start school, I was excited to understand how education works and why we need it. Everybody at least gets nervous and that’s how I felt for pre-k. Learning is the most important thing in life to have and be accomplished. Education will change my life and the way I learn and the job I get in the future. My life isn’t easy being the middle child. Also having no cousin’s, Uncle’s, Aunt’s or relatives because they all live in my parents home country. They have never seen how America looks like because they don’t have Visa to come to America. That was ok because I could just make new friends and have company, like the friends I have at school or the ones i’ve known since I was a little kid.

When I started kindergarten I met my best friend Ethan. He has black hair and was the same height as me, we had a lot in common. He had cousins that used to play with my older brother. Ethan lived close to me because his grandma lived in my neighborhood. He would come over and we would play on our neighbor’s trampoline. We would always talk about it during school. He was really fun to have around. I thought I was going to have Ethan by my side and he left my side. He moved and I never saw him again but his grandma still lived nearby. I saw him 4 years later on his way to his grandma’s house. I was really excited, but he had to go home, and he never came back. That made me sad because he left to do his chores. He said he would come but didn’t.

For these last 4 years i’ve been playing with my new best friend. His name is Shia. He has glasses like me and we love soccer and basketball and makes us unstoppable.  He lived not that far away from me and I could walk to his house so we can do sports or just hang out. He is the best friend anybody can ask for. After Ethan left, I didn’t want to give up learning, I wanted to be successful. Shia and I have a lot in common and do everything together. Sometimes there are people that just like to bother us but Shia has my back and so do I because I never leave a friend   behind. Sometimes we would get mad at eachother but that’s how we learn from our mistakes. He makes me feel like he’s a teacher and so am I because we learn from each other and be successful. Shia is the confident person in life that will never give up and keep trying. His brothers and my brother are friends and he makes me feel like he’s a brother to me.

My friendship with Shia was not that different with Ethan because they both were polite and good listeners and so am I. They both are like family to me. Speaking of family, my parents are the best. They help me do anything I can to learn.

I wanted to learn my second language which is Persian. I can finally write and read Persian after practicing for three years.  Now I want to try and learn spanish so I can communicate with my friends. In 5th grade i’ve had friends that i’ve known since kindergarten. They were Jamour, Aniyah and including Shia were my friends that I still know now. They are all funny, cool and all smart. Aniyah is so cool,  maybe I’m jealous of her clothes and Jamour is really smart and really polite.

I’ve learned a lot from my 4th grade teacher and my 5th grade teacher. My 4th grade teacher is Mrs. Wise and my 5th grade teacher is Mr. Fitz. Mr. Fitz has taught me and my fellow classmates enough to have a good job and have a good education and get guided to the right path so I believe in me and my classmates to be successful.

I also take karate and this August I will get my black belt and that is something else i’m going to accomplish. Something I will share in the future to others to be inspired.

My parents make me confident enough to study and be really smart. My parents believe in me and I believe in them to live there life the way they want to.

When I grow up, I will be a surgeon so I can help people and do surgery. I will try and be a heart or a brain surgeon. I will attend Johns Hopkins University and get well educated. I will spend 4 years of undergraduate school, 4 years of medical school so I will get my future job.

Thank you all, it was an honor to be here. Have a wonderful summer.

Good bye Elementary

5th grade speech

Good morning Mrs.Dietz, Mrs.German teachers , staff , families , and students. My name is Amanda Carpio. I was born in silver spring and I have lived in montgomery county for all my life.

When I began kindergarten it was very fun. The teachers taught me how to speak english because when i was little I didn’t know how to speak it. Learning english was hard and it sounded like gibberish to me. When I started remembering the words to english. I started forgetting all the words to spanish. That’s a bad thing, because most of my family speaks Spanish.

Moving on to the end of 3rd grade i had to move schools Because my babysitter moved to a different house. And she moved away from the school that I went to. And thats when i came to daly  . When I came to daly everyone was very nice and friendly. In 5th grade I met new people that weren’t in my class last year.

The first thing i’m looking forward to after 5th grade is the summer time and sleeping in.  I hope you all have a great summer.  I’ll see you in 6th grade.  Thank you for having me.

Matthew’s Speech

Good morning:

Mrs. Dietz and Mrs. German teachers and staff fellow classmates parents and guardians  My name  is Matthew  Mendizabal.

What changed my life was coming to School, Family.

School changed my life When I entered kindergarten I learned that this is fun and  to learn I was shy for a few weeks then I realized I don’t have to be shy . My first friend name was Edwin he love to talk he would play soccer outside he always talked during story time during math almost everything but he was still my friend because because he was smart and made jokes some I did not get at all and some were really funny. Edwin has short hair brown eyes and he is also mexican. There was a moment in my life was when I was in kindergarten a my friend Edwin was talking so much my kindergarten teacher made him put his clip on red which is bad  we had green which was good yellow which was a worrying orange which was they send a note home and red which was edwin on which means they call home and send you to the office but he was not sent to the office. In fact that was the first day of school I remember that moment a few week or days Edwin was my friend. Kindergarten I think was my favorite year because we had break time fun work like these puzzles where it is a black and white picture and you have a highlighter and find the picture I was good at it. My class had a bunk with pillows so you climb up the mini ladder and you can read in the bunk. The teacher let us write stories on the computer and letters to fellow classmates. Now my teacher name is mr. fitz he teaches me new things that I didn’t know before. He helps me understand what he is try to teach me in class. I’m happy for that and thank him. I also have to thank all the teachers I had before because they helped me to get where I am now able to read write and do much more. School changed my life by learning and how school can help you and where you can go with your life.

My family has changed my life because they told me to enjoy school. When I was 5 or 6 my mom told me one day you will be in school and you will be smart and intelligent and I said “I hope so” and now i’m about to go to middle school, and I can’t wait. They said it should be fun but when it’s to be responsible, take it seriously. Always focus on school work. Be positive work hard and study so when you have a test you will be ready and fucus. My family always encouraged me to do my best. Family changed my life because Even tho middle school is going to have more homework and harder work I would still try my best.

In the future:

I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up but I hope it is fun, successful and happy. My goal is to get a High school Diploma and graduate from College and I will try my best to achieve that goal and have a great life.

conclusion: Thank you it is great to be here and have a great summer.

My Speech

My Speech

By: Abdi

Good morning Mrs.Dietz, Mrs.German, parents, teachers, daly staff, and guests, welcome to the class of 2014-2015 send-off.

Some people say that leaving elementary school is an ify-ify deal, but I think that is a big deal. When I was just a little girl, I went to a kindergarten in the Netherlands with my mom and my dad stayed home in the U.S to make sure the house stayed safe. A few years later I came back home to my dad in the U.S, and that is when I came to my first ever american school, Christa McAuliffe Elementary School. I made a few friends and some enemies, but I forgot all about them when I came to this wonderful school called Captain James Edward Daly Elementary School. My friends, Esther, Kyla, Dayanara, Amanda, Emily, Briana, Jamour, Natalya, and more have always been there for me. But I should really say thanks to my mom and dad for taking care of me and making me laugh and making sure I was on top of my school work.

Now I have a really awesome teacher named Mr.Fitzpatrick. He is the most weirdest teacher. He also takes us on the most amazing field trips, like the one to the University of Maryland and a Frederick Keys game and more. He taught me how to divide fractions, multiply decimals, and lots of more things. Mr.Fitz will always tell us if we are going to have a crazy day or tells us what happened over the weekend and something over break. But to summarize it, he is one rockin’ teacher.

When I came to Daly Elementary, I made my first friend, Morgan Mason. We became friends in a second. It all happened in first grade and I was new. The next year my friend, Briana, was always there for me. She helped me with school work I had no clue what I was supposed to do, she stood up for me when people were bullying me. In third grade, Tanvi Soni was the funniest friend I ever had. She always made me laugh. She could be strict, funny, or just plain random. 4th grade, Autumn Hardy was the most toughest friend. She will make sure the person who made me cry or sad will pay.

Over the past years, I have made a few friends. You might have heard their names earlier, but I want to point out these few people. Esther, Kyla, Dayanara, Amanda, Emily, Brianna, Jamour, Natalya, Tanvi, Morgan, and Autumn.

On the first day of school, I wondered ‘What is going to happen’, but I never knew that I was in a class full of friends. I also never knew that I would have so many memories here.

There is one more thing I want to say to my fellow classmates, look to the future and never give up. And there is one more thing I want to tell you from a writing legend,

‘You have brains in your head,

You have feet in your shoes,

You can steer yourself in any direction you choose’

-Dr.Seuss.

Thank you and have a good day.

My 5th Grade Kickout

Good Morning, Mrs.Dietz,Mrs.German,Honored guests, parents,Daly Staff, and of course 5th grade classes of 2015-2016. It is a distinguished honor to be here today.

My dog was very playful, never harmful, and was great to have around.Last year me and my friend went up in the guest room to play games on my mom’s computer. The guest room had a 6ft bed, a tiny TV, and a desk to work on.We had stayed up there for about an hour and went downstairs to check on my dog. Earlier my friend had left a halfway empty chip bag on a small leather ottoman, across from my dog’s bed. My dog had saw the bag and took it onto the floor.By the time we got down my dog had her snout in the bag, laying in a sleeping position with motionless control.

That friend’s name was Dj. Dj protected me, always by my side, always the best. Me and him thought we would always have eachothers back.We had fights and arguments from time to time but no matter what it was, the next day it would look like it never happened. But then a major fight started. It had even included both of our parents. When it started I stayed up in my room and went under my bed so I wouldn’t have to hear or watch anything. By the time the fight was over an hour and a half had already passed. My mom had called me to come down try but failed to tell me nicely that I could never see Dj ever again.

Finding a daycare was pretty much the hardest thing for me. I had first went to a daycare that had a giant room. The first few months were good but then I got into a bad habit. I started writing bad words on the doors, hurting people and then I got kicked out. The next one I went to I did the same thing. I got kicked out again. Finally I went to a daycare called Kindercare. I think I was doing all of those thing because I didn’t like the other daycares due to the fact that when I got into Kindercare I was perfectly fine.

Going from Kindergarten to the rest of the school years was fine until I hit 5th grade.I met this awesome teacher named Mr. Fitz. When my class and I met him, we had a far better time than in the past years. We started doing fun science experiments, cool math games, mysterious books, and the highest quality percentage of field trips. I’m lucky that I was chosen to be in this class. If I wasn’t I wouldn’t get the best memories that I will never forget.

Now we’re going to leave this amazing experience. Its very disappointing but very exciting at the same time.I‘m really going to miss this place, all the memories, all the up and down times, all of the fun.We are all going to 6th grade. It will be a tough time but if we believe, we can get through it. I’m leaving and hopefully never drop out of any other schools from middle school to college. The future will be a big change for everyone here.

A new chapter will begin in our lives and we need to be prepared. So always look towards the future. The past does predict the future! If something doesn’t happen in the past it will happen in the future.Your actions have their own consequences. Thank you and have an amazing summer!
