Our Ella Fitzgerald Infomercial

As a group of four we, (Jasmine, Leandra, Alexa, and me) made an infomercial of Ella Fitzgerald, a scat queen, a jazz queen, and an amazing singer. Ella wasn’t just some normal teenager that existed, Ella was an amazing singer, jazz queen and wrote a lot of songs with famous musicians. Let me give you a back round of her past before you watch this. She was denied because of the way she looked. That’s all that I am going to tell you about, I don’t want to spoil the infomercial for you!!

Abby’s Kinda Fun Winter Break

Abby was woken up by her brother because her family was going to a trip in Gettysburg. Her family got dressed and then her mom packed up the car with snacks and Abby drove with her mom to her aunt’s  house and got her mom’s dad, Abby kept complaining because she didn’t want to go. She wanted to stay home and play on her computer.

Abby was mad and she was reading a book called, “The Fault In Our Stars.” She was sitting in the car with her sister, her brother, and her cousin and her mom. Her mom drove for an hour and stopped and said. “Do you guys want to go inside and look around the museum? WE are not buying anything ok?” Abby’s family went into the museum and they walked around looked at diffrent things.

Abby’s family had finished looking at the museum. They then walked outside and saw a statue of Abraham Lincoln. The Abraham Lincoln statue that was there was as old as the museum. (It was pretty old.) Abby’s family walked back to their car and everyone piled into the full car.  The car was as full as a kid’s stomach after a thanksgiving dinner.

Abby’s mom drove around to different stops, which at every stop there was something that was a part of the world war.  Abby was really enjoying these stops. Every time Abby stopped at a site they would get out and explore what happened there.  At one of these stops there was a huge stand that she and her family walked up to in freezing, cold, rainy weather.   Abby didn’t like being up there but she got some great pictures also while she is freezing her butt off.  It was a piece of cake walking up the stairs. Abby was liking to explore.

When they stopped at another stop there was a barn with a huge hole from a cannon in the war, her whole family thought it was cool, they started getting pictures. Abby was to fascinated to take a picture.  Then she drove some more and there weren’t many cool stops left.

The Women’s Suffrage Movement

It was 1848 when  the Women’s Suffrage started. It affected every women that was born in the U.S.A at that time because they didn’t get to vote for anyone they wanted for president or things like that. Since the movement succeeded we can now vote.

Women’s Suffrage didn’t begin until Susan B Anthony called a meeting in Seneca New York. In that meeting they talked about getting their rights to vote. Susan B. Anthony  had gone to that meeting and all the women discussed that they were gonna peacefully protest until they got their rights to vote. Susan B. Anthony organized conventions for white people and she organized it to make it so that she could get people’s votes for  rights of the women to be able to vote. At this time we still had slaves so then it was just conventions for white people.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was a part of this also. She had helped make the Women’s Suffrage Movement take place.  Elizabeth Cady Stanton made and wrote speeches/pamphlets and wrote  “Declaration of women’s rights” with  Susan B Anthony. Elizabeth wrote many pamphlets and read speeches to big crowds.

Ida B. Wells was a women so back then before the  Women’s Suffrage began  all women weren’t treated the same as men. Ida B. Wells was banned from an anti-slavery, convention because she was a women. Ida B. Wells wasn’t allowed in any conventions because she was a women.

Mary Wollstonecraft wrote a book called. “A vindication of the Rights of a Women.” which supported the women in getting their movement  to pass. Mary Wollstonecraft was writing books and it helped her make their rights of a women more powerful  and greater. Mary Wollstonecraft worked very hard with these other 3 ladies to make the Women’s Suffrage Movement act succeeded.

The 9th amendment was what made the Women’s Suffrage come true and make the Women’s Suffrage come true and become a true act. The 9th amendment helped every women in the U.S to be able to vote. If the 9th amendment didn’t exist the women of the U.S wouldn’t be voting today.

Now you know how the women of the world can vote. You ladies can  thank Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Ida B. Wells, Mary Wollstonecraft. All these ladies working together made the  goals of the Women’s Suffrage Movement come true.  Imagine if we didn’t have these ladies the Women’s Suffrage Movement probably wouldn’t have happened until years later.

The 4th Amendment

I believe that law number four is the best law, No one can search your body, your house, or your papers unless they can prove to a judge that you have committed a crime.

Let me tell you why I believe this is the best law.  These next three paragraphs will tell you about

Cop’s don’t need to be seeing if we have anything even if we haven’t committed a crime. You could have like weapons and that doesn’t mean anything. You have to have the full on search so then you have to find the real evidence.

We shouldn’t be held against a crime even if you didn’t commit to it. The cops don’t need to start assuming. They need to do a huge search to really see if that person did really commit a crime.

Just by searching a body, you can’t get any good evidence, you can get a little bit of evidence. You don’t want little clues you want the big clues so that you can see if the person is guilty or if they aren’t.

What would you do if your parents forgot to pick you up after school?,

(This is a joke I really wouldn’t do any of this.)

First of all, I wouldn’t exactly care. I would just go to my teacher’s classroom and just take all the test that we did on that day  and just put a big sad face and a N. But on mine I would put ES. Then I would sneak around the building and then just find a room with pillows and sleep for the night. But I didn’t mention the food. I would go to the cafeteria and then steal a little bit of food there. There I am fed, tired enough to go to bed, and ready to learn again in the morning.

Write down everything you know about your family members.

I know that my mom is the best mom in the history of moms, she mostly gets me things that I want, only if I am good.

My dad is the best dad but he also is a firefighter. Everyone knows my dad because he comes to my school to show children to not be afraid of firefighters. I know i’m not afraid of firefighters, because I know my dad is one of them.

My oldest sister is the best one. She is always giving me advice to avoid trouble.

My older brother is always teaching me some tricks in soccer he wants me to succeed. And plus it helps me because he is a bit more advanced than me.

My little sister, let me think she is just a little 3 year old booger she can sometimes be annoying and bossy. She is a little diva. She is addicted to this toy called Shopkins… They are creepy.
